We never got to do anything that exciting in scouts, all I remember doing is camping in the rain, hiking in the rain and tying knots.

Phil - our scouts are very active. They have at least one major activity a month, whether they are hiking the Appalachian Trail, canoeing, camping, indoor rock climbing, etc. We have a fairly small troop, only about 30 boys, so we are able to plan lots of different kinds of things. I'm lucky that my son thinks it's cool for me to participate and enjoys having his mom around on events, as long as I remember I am not his mom when I am there, but one of the scout leaders. :)
